The Dhaka Times Desk We often cook food for days and eat it hot later. Many times it is seen that after eating cooked food, if it remains, it is kept in the refrigerator to be heated later so that the food is not wasted. This changes the functionality of some foods and makes them lose their nutritional value and sometimes many foods become poisonous. Although not all types of food have this risk, some foods have such a risk that reheating the food can put the whole family at risk of health.

Foods which can be dangerous to health if reheated are mentioned here:
Chicken:
Chicken is the most common reheated food. We all do it more or less. But you will be surprised to know that this is the most dangerous. Reheating alters the functionality of the high protein content and often causes digestive problems. So chicken should never be reheated after cooking because it contains more protein than any other meat. So it is best if you have to eat it without heating it, if it is kept in the fridge for some time before eating, you can eat it when it comes to normal temperature. And if you have to heat it, heat it at a very low temperature for a while.
Eggs:

Eggs are one food that turns poisonous when exposed to high heat. So scrambled eggs or boiled eggs should never be reheated. Because eating it can cause stomach upset.
Potatoes:

This highly nutritious vegetable is very good for our health. But when it is reheated, potatoes lose most of their nutrients and become toxic. So, potatoes should be eaten immediately after cooking or eaten cold to get long-lasting satisfaction from their anti-diabetic properties. If something with potatoes has been cooked for a few days, try adding the potatoes later.
Mushrooms:
If you cook something with mushrooms, you should eat it immediately and if there is any left over, it is better to eat it cold. If it is also reheated, proteins like chicken change their function and often taste. It then causes various digestive problems as well as losing its health benefits.
Spinach:

Reheating spinach is also dangerous. Spinach is high in nitrates and when reheated after cooking, it is completely converted to nitrates, which are cancer-causing agents. So spinach should be eaten fresh and immediately after cooking.
bit:
This vegetable also contains nitrates like spinach which are very dangerous to reheat. But this does not mean that it cannot be eaten the next day, just eat it unheated.
Celery:
It should also not be reheated after cooking due to the high percentage of nitrates it contains. However, since celery is usually used in soups or such cooking, if you have to heat it later, you can discard the celery from the cooked food and reheat it.
Turnip:

Turnips also contain high levels of nitrates. So it should not be reheated, it is better to eat it cold.
So from now on, think twice when cooking and re-heating any food for preservation. And if the food mentioned here remains in it then it should be eaten without reheating to be free from digestive problems.
