The Dhaka Times Desk Schools and colleges are closed due to Corona. However, many schools are taking classes online. A father sold his only possession of the cow because he could not afford to think about his son's education!
Being a father of children means many responsibilities. So in any case that responsibility must be fulfilled! The pet cow was the last thing in the house. So a father sold his last possessions and bought a smartphone for his son's online classes.
The incident took place in the village of Gumar in Jalamukhi, Himachal Pradesh, India. Because he had nothing to sell except cows.
The man, Kuldeep Kumar, said he had no other choice. He wanted to teach his children to study anyway.
He did not even agree to stop their studies midway for just one smartphone. So he sold his last possessions and bought smartphones for his children.
However, Jalamukhi MLA Ramesh Dhawala has come forward after learning about Kuldeep's plight from the media. Also instructed BDO and SDM to provide financial assistance.
According to the local media of India, Kuldeep Kumar lives in Gumar village of Jalamukhi. That was the only cow to say the property. He used to earn by selling milk.
But education of children is more important than that. A smartphone is required for online learning. Despite many efforts, he could not collect that money. So his two children, Annu and Dippur, sold their cow for 6 thousand rupees to continue their education.
Among Kuldeep's two children, Annu is in class IV and Dippu is in class II. The school was repeatedly asked to buy a smartphone. Kuldeep said that he has no money to buy a smartphone. He does not even have 500 rupees.
However, there is no way to do online classes without a phone. Kuldeep did not reduce efforts to collect money. But no one helped him.
There was no benefit from applying for a loan. So, in the end, he raised the money to buy a smartphone by selling the only asset.
