Recently, incidents like sinkholes are increasing like storms and landslides. Experts say that global warming and climate crisis have a direct impact on the creation of giant craters. However, the creation of such monstrous holes in nature is not new. This natural disaster has been seen in different countries for ages. But recently the rate has increased a lot.

After an earthquake in December last year, more than 100 sinkholes formed in Croatia. In the last one month, after Turkey, Mexico, Italy, Israel, this sinkhole has also been created in India.

Scientists say that it takes decades or even centuries for a sinkhole to form. According to the USGS, hollow spaces are created within the soil when groundwater or minerals are extracted. When the soil below cannot take the pressure of the land, it collapses and creates huge craters.

Regarding the reason for the sudden increase in sinkholes in nature, experts say that due to global warming, nature's normal movement process is being affected. Drought has increased due to increase in temperature at an alarming rate. The water level has also decreased. Soil erosion, heavy exposure to methane gas, high rates of groundwater and mineral extraction are also responsible for this. Unplanned underground sewage lines or underground constructions are considered to be the main reason for the increase of sinkholes in the city.

The largest number of sinkholes in the world occurs in the US state of Florida. Next is Konya in Turkey. In just one year, the country's monster holes have at least doubled. More than 600 sinkholes have been found this year. There are also several giant craters in the Siberian regions of China and Russia.

It is known that the size or depth of sinkhole varies in each area. The largest sinkhole ever discovered is in Siberia. There is a monster hole that is created in an area of about one kilometer!
