This time, India surpassed China in the sale of smartwatches

The Dhaka Times Desk Technology is always changing. It's really hard to tell who will move on when. Similarly, India's dominance in the smartwatch market has overtaken China.

Recently, a report by 'Counterpoint Research' has claimed that India's smartwatch market has increased by 347 percent compared to last year, i.e. 'year-on-year'! At present, India is at the second position in the world.

Even in this context of international unrest, such as inflation or the Russia-Ukraine war, second-quarter figures have been shocking. It appears that there is a 13 percent increase in sales of smartwatches worldwide. One of the reasons for this growth is the huge demand for Indian products. Two Indian brands 'Fire-Bolt' and 'Noise' are currently at the top of the list of smartwatch brands.

On the other hand, China's market is in trouble. Brands like Huey, Emo or Amazfit have seen a major drop in sales. Also, the sales of Indian brands have increased by leaps and bounds.

Compared to the second quarter of last year, the sales of 'Noize' have increased by 298 percent. However, the 'Fire-Bolt' is currently at the top in the Indian market. Due to which the sales of 'Noize' has decreased by 26 percent in the domestic market.

Then the question may come to many people's mind, which number is playing this smart watch of Indian brand? One of the reasons behind this is the very low price of smartwatches in the Indian market. Statistics show that 30 percent of the models exported to the Indian market are sold for less than Rs 4,000.

China's position in the world market was second in the last quarter as well. However, due to the financial crisis, they have now risen to number three. Their 'Huey' brand is at the top of the market in that country. Exports also increased by 13 percent. But the overall picture is not promising.

It is believed that if these products cannot be sold in the Indian market, there will be no growth in the Chinese smartwatch market. However, in the situation of the Indian market, it will be a big challenge for China to compete with domestic products now. On the other hand, due to the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war on the European market, they fell to fourth place. Source: News Daily.
