They were given raisins and popcorn in boxes wrapped in colored paper, according to a report by German media outlet Deutsche Welle. The chimpanzees opened the box with great enthusiasm.
A spokesperson for the zoo told the German news agency dpa, "The chimpanzees are very curious, they like to be surprised, and they were just as happy to receive the gift as we were."
