The Dhaka Times Desk BAT Bangladesh has been awarded by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) as the best taxpayer organization in the 'Other' category for the financial year 2021-22.
Since 2014, the institution has received this honorable recognition for 9 consecutive times for making significant contribution to the state treasury.
On this occasion, the National Board of Revenue organized a function on December 28 at the Officers Club of the capital. Hon'ble Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, FCA, MP was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Hon'ble Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, MP was present as a special guest on the occasion.
And the senior secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Fatima Yasmin. Besides, Chairman of National Revenue Board and Senior Secretary of Internal Resources Department Mr. Abu Hena presided over the event. Rahmatul Munim.
In the ceremony, BAT Bangladesh Chairman Golam Moin Uddin presented the award and crest. BAT Bangladesh Head of Finance Mr. Aman Mustafiz and Corporate Finance Controller Ashrakat Hossain were also present in the event.
Golam Moin Uddin, chairman of BAT Bangladesh, said, "We are happy to receive the highest tax payer award again. As always, we are very proud to contribute to the economic development of the country. We believe that the state treasury plays an important role in keeping the country's economy moving and the growth momentum continuing. So this recognition will definitely motivate us.”
It is to be noted that in the fiscal year 2021-22, BAT Bangladesh has deposited about Tk 28 thousand 280 crore to the state treasury as VAT, supplementary duty, income tax and other fees. News press release.
