The Dhaka Times Desk A quarter of the world's lovers want to use AI to write Valentine's Day love letters. This surprising information came out in a survey by the antivirus manufacturer company McAfee.
McAfee's survey found that 1 in 4 adults (26 percent of respondents) plan to use generative AI tools to propose or write a love letter to a partner. And more than two-thirds (67 percent) can't tell the difference between a love letter created by AI and one written by a human. McAfee's last year's survey was titled 'Modern Love'. The study aims to understand how AI and the Internet are affecting love and relationships in the modern age. The data of 5 thousand people from 9 countries was taken in the study. One of the most interesting facts of this study is that - a quarter of the respondents would express their love to their partners using AI-based tools like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini and Microsoft's Copilot!
The most common reason for writing AI-based letters was that it would make the sender appear more confident to peers (according to 27 percent of respondents).
Lack of time and motivation to write personal letters was found as the second reason (21 percent) in the study. 10 percent of the respondents think that the work can be done faster through this.
Most of the respondents also felt that writing letters in this manner would not get them caught. On the other hand, 49 percent of adults said they would feel insulted if they received a letter generated by an AI-based tool. But 67 percent of respondents couldn't tell the difference between love letters created by AI tools and those created by humans.
Generative AI tools based on Large Language Models (LLMs) can produce human-like text. Most of these tools can also control the writing style, structure and rhythm etc. through user instructions.
Moreover, users can also create their own chatbots with subscription-based AI assistants like ChatGPT Plus, CoPilot Pro. Users can train these chatbots with their own scripts. Because of this, they can also create text in the user's writing style.
McAfee's research indicates that cybercriminals can trick many people by creating such letters. Fraudsters also plan to target vulnerable people. Such criminals often make false promises about love and relationships.
The study found that 51 percent of respondents had experienced catfishing (talking to or meeting strangers online who pretend to be someone else).
McAfee company also advised to be careful about communication with strangers during this time. Also advised not to give money or confidential information to a stranger.

How to prevent dengue
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral fever. This fever is different from other viral or bacterial fevers. However, this fever is not contagious in any way. This viral fever can occur alone or in combination with other viruses (chikungunya, yellow fever, Burma forest, flu, respiratory syncytial) and bacteria (pneumococcus).
Dengue fever is divided into two categories depending on the severity of symptoms and fever.
1. Common dengue fever
2. Dengue fever with bleeding.
In the case of common dengue fever, the following symptoms are mainly seen-
1. Sudden high fever lasting 2 to 7 days.
2. Severe headache.
3. Pain behind the eyes.
4. Along with the fever, red rash appears all over the body.
5. Severe pain in whole body as well as back pain.
6. Nausea or vomiting.
7. A rash or red bumps on the skin.
In case of dengue fever with bleeding:
1. Bleeding from nose, mouth or vomiting with high fever within 2 to 48 hours.
2. Fluid accumulation in chest or abdomen along with fever.
If any of these symptoms appear, seek medical attention immediately.

Wait at home for the first 3 days of fever. On the other hand, sponge the whole body with water every now and then. This will reduce the level of fever. Drink enough water and rest. After that, if the fever does not decrease or if it continues to increase after some time, consult a doctor immediately.
Things to do to prevent Dengue:
1. Try to keep the surroundings of the house as clean as possible.
2. If there are flower tubs or broken plastic bottles, can shells, tires or polythene inside the house, clean them quickly and drain the accumulated water from the flower tubs.
3. Spray or fog at least 3 times a week to kill mosquitoes.
4. You can keep mosquito repellent cream with you while going out.
5. After evening, younger and older members of the household should use mosquito nets.
6. Clean up any accumulated rain water, as this is the time when Aedes mosquitoes lay their eggs.
7. On the other hand, you can use mats along with mosquito nets to avoid mosquito infestation.
