The Dhaka Times Desk When Ramadan comes, the diet changes a lot. Since you have to abstain from food and drink throughout the day, this sudden change can affect your body. And so several foods should be avoided in Sehri.
Fasting is obligatory for Muslims. You may get sick while doing this duty. The reason for this is that you have to wait from Sobhe Sadek to Dushya i.e. Maghrib Adhan. Due to this long period of abstinence from eating and drinking, some physical impediments may appear from time to time. And so in order to keep the body healthy, some rules need to be followed in Sehri food. Because the health of your whole day will depend a lot on Sehri food. Some foods provide many nutrients to the body. And some foods we eat because they are fun. But they can also make us constantly sick. So know about some foods that will not help in fasting but will increase the difficulty if eaten during Sehri. Avoid all these foods during Sehri.
Avoid foods like Khichuri during Sehri. Because it is a very hot food. Eating khichuri can also make you physically ill. Moreover, this khichuri can also cause stomach problems. So avoid Khichuri on Sehri night.
Dal is our staple food. Fish, meat, curries, we must have pulses. And so it is said in words, 'Eat four grains of rice'. Dal produces a lot of gas in empty stomach. And so it would be wise not to eat pulses on the night of Sehri. Dalbuna, mung or boot dal produces stomach gas. So it is better to avoid them. If you want to eat whole, then eat lentils thinly. If it is strained, you may have to suffer from stomach pain all day.
We all know that eggs are a nutritious food. But this does not apply to Sehri at all. Eggs are full of protein and vitamins needed by the body, but they contain acidity. So it has to be discarded. Especially, it is better not to eat any cooked curries with eggs at Sehri.
Lemon helps in digestion. And so we try to use it in all cases. But in the case of Sehri, this is absolutely unavoidable. Because lemon creates extreme acidity in an empty stomach. That's why never eat lemon in Sehri. Eating lemons can cause you extreme embarrassment due to acidity.
You must stay away from oily food during Sehri. Otherwise you may suffer all day. Avoid high oil foods.
Also, it is better to avoid fast food, cold drinks, polao, biryani, dal braa or such fried foods during Sehri.
