It should be noted that the ML Pinak-6 launch sank on August 4 on its way to Mawa from Kawrakandi Ghat with about 300 passengers. One hundred passengers survived but the rest fell to their deaths. So far 49 dead bodies have been recovered. The Pinak-6 launch has not yet been recovered. Many passengers are still missing.
