Renowned music artist Feroza Begum passed away

Feroza Begum, the renowned music artist of the subcontinent, known as the empress of Nazrul Sangeet, passed away. The legendary music artist of the subcontinent breathed his last at 8:30 pm on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at the capital's Apollo Hospital.

It is known that Feroza Begum's body will be taken to her residence on Indira Road on Wednesday morning. His funeral prayers will be completed at Azad Mosque in Gulshan after Asr.

Feroza Begum was born on July 28, 1930 in Faridpur to a noble zamindar family. His father is Khan Bahadur Mohammad Ismail and mother Begum Kawkabunnesa. She is married to renowned composer and music director Kamal Dasgupta. At the time of his death he left behind 3 children Tahsin Ahmed, Hamin Ahmed and Shafin Ahmed.

This renowned artist Feroza Begum has been awarded numerous national and international awards and honors including Ekushey Padak, Bangla Academy Fellowship, Sheltech Padak, the highest state award in recognition of her long musical career.

It may be noted that he was admitted to Apollo Hospital last Friday due to physical illness. He was under treatment in the ICU there. He had heart and kidney problems.
