BNP Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the strike program in a statement sent last Tuesday night. In that statement, it was informed that this nationwide 24-hour general strike will be observed from 6 am on Thursday to 6 am on Friday.
It is to be noted that miscreants opened fire on Riaz Rahman's car in front of the Westin Hotel in Gulshan around 8:30 pm on Tuesday. He received several bullets in his body. Riaz Rahman's car was also burnt. Riyaz Rahman, who was shot, is undergoing treatment at the United Hospital in Gulshan. The bullet has already been surgically removed.
