Jamaat-e-Islami's affiliate organization Islami Chhatrashibir has called morning-evening hartal across the country on Sunday, February 8. This strike was announced in a press release signed by Central Publicity Secretary of Chhatra Shibir, Monir Ahmad, on Friday afternoon.
The press release said, 'Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has announced a countrywide morning-evening hartal program on February 8 Sunday in protest against the indiscriminate killing, disappearance, torture, vandalism of houses and mass arrests of activists by the law and order forces.'
The leaders of the camp said, 'We call on the people of all levels, including the students of the country, to respond peacefully to mismanagement and state terrorism by making this hartal a hundred percent successful. Our strike will be completely peaceful. But if the government obstructs, then the responsibility of any kind of situation that arises will fall on them.'
