According to media sources, an expensive suit discussed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been auctioned. This auction started yesterday Wednesday. And this auction is taking place in Surat, Gujarat. Prime Minister Modi wore the Rs 10 lakh suit when US President Barack Obama visited India last month. Hence this suit is considered as 'moot'.
Modi was seen wearing the suit at Hyderabad House in the Indian capital, New Delhi, during a tea ceremony with Obama and later during a press conference. The suit also has PM Modi's full name written in gold letters. After wearing this suit, he faced criticism. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also taunted the Prime Minister on the matter. That suit is up for auction. Along with that suit, 455 gifts received by Narendra Modi at different times are also being auctioned. This auction will last for three days.
It should be noted that Surat Municipal Commissioner Milind Toravane said that the money obtained from the auction will be used for cleaning the Ganges.
