The news also informed that Roy used to write a Bengali blog named 'Muktmana'. He was also threatened earlier for writing against religious superstitions.

The famous American blogger of Bangladeshi origin was hacked to death by unknown assailants. Claimed to be an atheist, the author's family has received many threats from Islamic extremists.
On the other hand, according to news agency AFP, the two attackers stopped their rickshaw on their way home from the book fair by rickshaw. Then Abhijit dragged Roy and his wife to the footpath and hacked them to death with a sharp chapati.
Extremists have long been calling for the public killing of atheist bloggers. They are demanding new laws to stop writing criticizing Islam, according to AFP news.
