A 22-week-old fetus was found in the stomach of a 7-month-old baby! The medical doctors found the existence of a 22-week-old fetus in the stomach of a 7-month-old baby named Sazia Jannat at the Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital.
The child, named Sajia Jannat, is the daughter of Shafiqul Islam and Anjuman Khatun of Uhappur village of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila. Since March 13, the child named Sazia is under treatment in the pediatric surgery ward (203) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Dr. Head of Surgery Department of Dhamek Hospital. Ashraf ul Haque Kajal said, the examination found the existence of a human embryo's spine, arms, legs and head in the stomach of baby Sajia. This fetus is 22 weeks old. He is being prepared for surgery. Hope it will be possible to recover the child.'
Sajia's father Shafiqul Islam said that Sajia was born on September 10, 2014 in a private hospital in Jamalpur. After she was 4 months old, her stomach started growing abnormally. Later, when he was taken to Al Hera Hospital in Gazipur, the doctors there conducted an examination and reported a tumor in the stomach. The doctors advised him to take him to a good hospital for better treatment and brought him to Mymensingh Medical.
When she was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, the doctors there informed her about the existence of another baby fetus in her stomach. From there, Sazia was admitted to the child surgery ward of DMK Hospital on March 13.
Doctors think that twins may be born in the mother's stomach during pregnancy. Then one embryo grew out of them, but for some reason the other didn't. At one stage, the growing embryo covers the other embryo while still in the womb. As a result, the fetus passed in Sajia's stomach and later the fetus started growing in her stomach. Apart from this, the doctors have not found any reason for now.
