Returning to Dhaka films again, Indian Bengali actor Mithun Chakraborty will act in a movie called 'Janmbhoomi' jointly directed by Rashid Palash and Hasan Zakir.
It is known that the movie 'Janmbhoomi' is going to be made on the story of Partition. Mithun will play the role of Gauranga in this movie. The most interesting thing is that Mithun Chakraborty's real name is Gaurang Chakraborty.
Director Rashid Palash said that Mithun's character's name in the movie is Gaurang, which is also his real name. When I was writing the screenplay, it came to my mind how it would be to give Mithun's real name in a film based on the story of partition. Mithunda was also surprised to read the script!'
He also said that after the partition of the country in 1947, a large population migrated to India, the main story of the film revolves around the central government's torture of the people of East Pakistan. As the story goes, Gauranga never compromises on the issue of motherland. All his relatives migrated to India but he remained in East Pakistan. Then the swords of torture came down on him.
Apart from Mithun, there are several Indian actors and actresses in this movie. Many people from Bangladesh will also be there. But everything is not finalized yet. Seventy percent shooting will be in India. Mithun's part will reportedly be shot in India.
It is to be noted that in 1987, Mithun was first associated with Dhaka cinema through the joint production film 'Avichar' directed by Shakti Samant. Exactly 23 years after that, Mithun Chakraborty acted in Amjad Hossain's 'Golapi Anak Bilate'.
