The Dhaka Times Desk Once upon a time pigeons used to carry letters from one country to another. But that era ended long ago. But this time it was heard that the pigeon army will monitor the pollution!

Once upon a time pigeons were used to exchange letters. Letters were tied to the feet of pigeons. And that pigeon would then deliver the letter to the destination and return the reply in the same manner. And so the pigeon was seen as a carrier of letters. But this time, this pigeon has the responsibility of monitoring London's pollution! A technology firm called Plumlabs recently released 10 pigeons after attaching lightweight sensors called sensitizers to their backs. Pollution will be monitored through it.
These pigeons will fly in the sky of the capital of London. And the device on their backs will monitor the levels of nitrogen dioxide, ozone and other volatile compounds in the air in different parts of the city. On the other hand, with the help of a map (live map), the movement and location of the pigeons will be known.

Plumlabs authorities have also taken the initiative so that the pigeons do not face any obstacles in their work. According to the organization, at least 10,000 people die every year in London alone due to air pollution. Pigeon patrols are said to have been employed to make Londoners aware of the damage this pollution can cause.
It is to be noted that Pierre Duquesny and Matt Daniels, two employees of an organization called 'Digitus LBI', were the first to give this idea of flying pigeons in a competition on Twitter.
