The Tragedy of Savar Kakali got her mother's body back

The Dhaka Times Desk People's cries for the missing have not ended yet. Many bodies have been recovered in the Savar building collapse. Still, relatives are still searching for the bodies of their loved ones. One such Kakali recovered his mother's body.

For 18 days after the Rana Plaza collapse in Savar, 8-year-old Kakali waited for her mother's body under the open sky of the Adharchandra High School grounds. For the first few days, this little girl, who was waiting with her father Shahid Mia, was hoping to find her mother alive. But gradually his hope is fading. At least Kakali wanted to take her mother's body home to Natore village. Kakali's wish was fulfilled yesterday on May 11. His mother's body was identified from several bodies lying in Adharchandra field. This child is relieved to find the dead body of the compassionate mother. Meanwhile, another 6-year-old child, Hakeem, is walking around with the picture of his missing mother on his chest. The child is holding his grandfather Shaukat Ali's hand sometimes in Adharchandra field, hospital and sometimes running in front of the ruins of Rana Plaza. Ma Rafeza's body was not found even in the last 18 days. Not only the little Hakeem, many like this little child who lost their mother, some lost their son or daughter, husband lost his beloved wife, wife lost her husband are waiting at Adharchandra school ground like this little child. Crying day and night in that field and lamentation of those who lost their relatives is going on. Which started last April 24.

After the Rana Plaza collapse, 11 hundred and 21 dead bodies have been recovered till yesterday in 18 days. Among them, 12 died in the hospital after being rescued. 64 dead bodies were recovered from 12:00 on Friday till 9:00 on Saturday night. The bodies of 819 people have been handed over to their relatives till yesterday. There are 43 dead bodies in Adharchandra school ground and 19 dead bodies in two morgues awaiting handover. Dhaka District Control Room has informed that 312 people have been buried in Jurain cemetery till yesterday afternoon with DNA samples left as their identity was not identified.

Mother Halima Begum has been staying at Adharchandra school ground in Savar from Manikganj for 18 days in search of a girl artist. With artist's little daughter Ankhi and son Joy. This mother said crying, I have been looking for the girl since the first day. Initially, he hoped that the girl would be rescued alive, but now he wants at least the skeleton. In front of Adharchandra School's prayer room, an old woman was crying and crying with a picture of two people sitting under a mango tree. As he approached, he showed two pictures, one of Sultan and the other of Achma. Who are his beloved children. They used to work in the three-storey garments of Rana Plaza. After the building collapsed, this mother came from Nandigram in Bogra to look for her children.

Meanwhile, the rescue operation with heavy equipment was supposed to be completed on Saturday, but it was not stopped as many bodies were still being found. The campaign will continue like this for another day or two. Concerned authorities have continued the rescue operation thinking about the wishes of the loved ones.
