Mazar Sharif named after Bayezid Bostami, a famous Persian Sufi of Iran, is located on top of a hill in Nasirabad, Chittagong city. There is a paved gate next to the main road. After entering through that gate, you will see a big pond. There is a crowd of people at the ghat tied here. The interest of the devotees is the large turtle floating in the lake. Someone is touching the turtle's body, someone is giving food, and someone is touching the turtle's body with his baby. The reason for this is the belief of the devotees that if you touch the turtle, that child will not have any bad luck, it will be good.

This holy shrine is very attractive place for religious people of Chittagong as well as local and foreign tourists.

It is believed that there are 150 to 350 turtles living in this lake. During the breeding season, arrangements are made to lay their eggs in a protected area just behind the main hill of the shrine.

There is a legend among the shrine's devotees and local folk that at the time of the shrine's establishment, many evil jinns and sinful spirits roamed the area. Bayezid Bostami turned these evil spirits into turtles as punishment while traveling in the region. Not only that, they were sentenced to live in a pond for life.

If you go a few steps from the Ghatla of that lake, you will find the stairs of the shrine. If you go up the mountain by the stairs, you will find the main shrine.

It is known that the structure of this tomb was first discovered in 1831 in a walled courtyard on top of the hill. A crematorium is located right in the middle of the courtyard. Later the tomb was replaced by a modern structure.

This shrine is named after Bayezid Bostami. It is said that no historical basis can be found for the arrival of the famous Iranian Sufi Bayezid Bostami in the region. It is believed that Sufi saints and Auliyas often settled on top of hills or in forested areas during the propagation of Islam in Chittagong. They established shrines or other such structures at these places. The shrine of Bayezid Bostami is also a replica originally dedicated to him.

There are also a few trees growing in the courtyard of the shrine. These trees are called wish-fulfilling trees. So the devotees visiting the shrine write various requests on the note and hang it on the tree. Devotees believe that those who tie a thread of hope, wish is fulfilled on the top of the wish tree.

How much faith the devotees have in the wish-fulfillment tree can be seen by looking at the picture of the tree. Each tree is tied with yarn in such a way that the entire tree is colored red.

A 3-domed Mughal style rectangular mosque at the foot of the hill. From the architectural style, it is believed that this mosque was built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
