A company in the United States is going to end the practice of swiping cards. They have arranged to install a rice-sized microchip in the hands of the workers.

Todd Westby, CEO of K3 Square Market, said it will be the first in the United States to use the device. In 2004, the device received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Todd Westby says, 'We think it's the right time to innovate like we've been doing lately with driverless cars.'

The micro-market technology provider hopes to implant the chip in the hands of 50 volunteer workers. Westby said he and his family members will also have the chip implanted in their hands.

It is known that each of these chips costs 300 dollars. It will be inserted between the thumb and forefinger with a needle. Westby commented that it 'doesn't hurt at all'.

The hassle of an employee forgetting to bring a badge or credit card will be eliminated effortlessly. Once this chip is installed in an employee's hand, he can use it to buy food from the break room, open doors and even turn on computers!

Westby opined, in this case, there will be a fear of falling under surveillance of employees. Westby says, 'Your cellphone can be detected wherever you are, but this device can only be detected if you come within 6 inches of the reader!'

Westby commented that the risk of this device being hacked is 'absolutely not zero'. "It is a very safe and secure device," he said.

According to Westby, Sweden's BioHax International, a partner company of Three Square Markets, has already started using this chip in the hands of about 150 workers.
