The Dhaka Times Desk The Bangladeshi mobile film 'Interiors and Exteriors' is going to the 91st Oscars after winning the 'Kratka Radst (Short Joy)' award.

Bangladeshi filmmaker Ashiq Mostafar's zero-budget short film won the 'Kratka Radst (Short Joy)' award for Best Short Documentary Film at the Zilava International Documentary Film Festival held in the Czech Republic.

The prize money of 'Short Joy' is 3 thousand euros for online distribution and promotion. Apart from this, the Oscar-nominated 'Short Joy' award-winning film was also pre-selected for the Short Documentary category of the Academy Awards.

As such, the film will compete for the 91st edition of the Oscars. The largest festival of creative documentaries in Central and Eastern Europe focuses on unconventional and experimental films of different genres.

Ashiq Mostafa, the producer of 'Interiors and Exteriors' confirmed this fact. Expressing the experience of participating in the world premiere of the film, producer Ashiq Mustafa told the media, 'Watching so many wonderful films together broadens my perspective. I am now more motivated to make such films.'

This zero-budget short 'Interiors and Exteriors' captured on a mobile phone presents nuanced and resonant scenes of a seemingly ordinary scene seen on a daily basis in the city of Dhaka. This 8-minute film taken in a single shot is like a moving still image, where in the same frame is reflected a real picture of common people's normal religious practices and caste discrimination.
