Gas explosion in Bhaluka: Three students who were burned in Kuwait also left

The Dhaka Times Desk A student of Kuwait was killed and three students were injured in a gas explosion in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, and were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Among them, Shaheen Mia of Khas Satbari village of Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj district died on Wednesday night. He was taken to his home and buried last night. On this occasion teachers and students of textile engineering department of Kuwait were present. The students came to Sirajganj by 2 buses from Kuwait.

It is known that the Shaheens are two brothers and one sister. Younger sister is studying. Shaheen doesn't have a father, he has a mother. His elder brother taught him education with great difficulty. Mother had many dreams. That dream has been shattered. Mourning throughout the village. Shaheen's family members broke down in tears after seeing Kuwait's teachers and fellow students. At this time a heart-rending scene took place. The funeral was held at 10.30 pm on Thursday and the burial was completed at 12.00 pm.

After Shaheen's burial, the students came to know (around half past one in the night) that another student, Md. Fitgram of Manda Upazila in Naogaon district. Hafizur Rahman (23) died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. This delegation from Kuwait came to Dhaka Medical early in the morning from Sirajganj. At this time they came to know that another student Deepta Sarkar (23) of Shalikha Upazila of Magura District died today (Friday morning).

According to the latest news, currently two boarding students and teachers of Kuwait are staying at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Meanwhile, nothing is known about the measures taken by the administration regarding those responsible after the death of this explosion. The electronics media is also almost silent on this issue. There is a lot of anger among the students about this. They said exemplary punishment should be given to those who extinguished the life of talented students of Kuwait.

It is to be noted that the students of textile engineering department of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) were doing internship course in a garment factory named Square Fashion Limited located in Masterbari area of Valuka Upazila. On the night of March 25, a terrible gas explosion occurred, killing one person immediately. Later, three people were admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
