Letters are exchanged by mobile phone or e-mail while sitting at home. Now I can't think of pigeons or pigeons anymore.
However, the Odisha policemen of India have retained the tradition of hundreds of years! There is no exchange of letters by post, pigeons are carrying their important letters!

Note that Odisha Police Pigeon Service started in 1970 with 200 pigeons. This service is the oldest in India. When the radio system was completely destroyed during the Super Cyclone in 1999, the pigeon service was put on hold. The important messages were exchanged through this pigeon.
