The Dhaka Times Desk Once upon a time pigeons used to carry people's letters. But that was ages ago. But even in this period, what do pigeons carry letters? What is possible?

Pigeons were once the main vehicle for exchanging letters. What we know as pigeon. But modern technology has made us forget those days. Now you don't even need to go to the post office. Letters are exchanged by mobile phone or e-mail while sitting at home. Now I can't think of pigeons or pigeons anymore.
However, the Odisha policemen of India have retained the tradition of hundreds of years! There is no exchange of letters by post, pigeons are carrying their important letters!
Pigeons were once our main messengers. We forgot that. Those concerned with it think that the policemen of Odisha, India, are such an initiative to keep the tradition.
First, Odisha police arranged a test with fifty pigeons. Pigeons were first sent from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar. Everyone had a letter. which is tied to their feet.
It can be seen that in less than 20 minutes the pigeons have crossed the 24 km road. It is known that seventy years old Odisha Police Pigeon Service is the main organizer of this event. Former DGP Amiya Bhushan Tripathi told the media that they want to maintain the trend of exchanging letters through pigeons.
Note that Odisha Police Pigeon Service started in 1970 with 200 pigeons. This service is the oldest in India. When the radio system was completely destroyed during the Super Cyclone in 1999, the pigeon service was put on hold. The important messages were exchanged through this pigeon. Odisha police force should really be praised!
