India will excel in hypersonic missiles in just a few years. India's new missile is called 'Brahmos'. It will run very fast. It will travel seven times faster than sound. India is going to build this missile with the help of Russia.
Sudhir Mishra, CEO of 'Brahmos' Aerospace, said that within the next decade, the speed of Brahmos will be 'Mach 7' (seven times faster than sound) i.e. 5,370 miles per hour! He also said that it will take another 7 to 10 years to make the missile hypersonic.
He said, currently this missile can reach Mach 2.8 speed. In the next 5 years it will be able to reach Mach 3.5 speed.
Sudhir Mishra, CEO of Aerospace, said that to increase the speed of Mach 5, the technology of the current engine must be changed. To go to the Mach 7 stage, a better engine must be installed.
He added, "Our main goal is to develop a missile that will be useful in next-generation warfare." Along with DRDO, IITs, IIS are conducting research on this futuristic technology. Similarly, various organizations in Russia are conducting research.
