ঢাকা টাইমস্ রিপোর্ট ॥ একের পর এক ঘটছে গুমের ঘটনা। অথচ আইন প্রয়োগকারী সংস্থা কিছুই করতে পারছে না। বিএনপি নেতা ইলিয়াস আলী নিখোঁজের দীর্ঘদিন অতিবাহিত হলেও আজ পর্যন্ত পুলিশ কোন কুল কিনারা করতে পারেনি। আবার নারায়ণগঞ্জের এক কাপড় ব্যবসায়ী ৪ দিন ধরে নিখোঁজ রয়েছেন।
জানা যায়, শামিম নামে ওই ব্যবসায়ী ১৩ মে সকাল ৮টায় জেলার বন্দর থানার মুছাপুরে নিজ বাড়ি থেকে ঢাকার উদ্দেশ্যে বের হন বলে তার পারিবারিক সূত্রে জানা যায়। তিনি নারায়ণগঞ্জের ফতুল্লার বিভিন্ন গার্মেন্টস থেকে কাপড় এনে ব্যবসা করতেন। এ ব্যাপারে তার বাবা সরকারি চাকরিজীবী মোঃ আলফাজউদ্দিন নারায়ণগঞ্জ সদর থানায় পরদিন ১৪ মে রাতে একটি জিডি করেছেন। কিন্তু পুলিশ আজ পর্যন্ত তার কোন হদিস পায়নি। তার বাবা বলেন, শামিম কোন সময় বাড়িতে কিছু না বলে কোথাও যায় না। এ অবস্থায় তার স্ত্রী-সন্তানসহ পরিবারের সবাই চরম উৎকণ্ঠায় আছে। কেও তার সন্ধান পেলে ০১৮১২২৮১৭৪৫ অথবা ০১৬৭৫০১৬০২০ মোবাইল নাম্বারে যোগাযোগের জন্য অনুরোধ করা হয়েছে।
উল্লেখ্য, সামপ্রতিক সময়ে গুম বা নিখোঁজের ঘটনা মাত্রাতিরিক্ত বেড়েছে। অনেক সময় সরকারকে বেকায়দায় ফেলার জন্যও এরকম অনেক ঘটনার সূত্রপাত ঘটতে পারে। কিন্তু দেখা যায় পুলিশ সেসব ঘটনার কোন কূল কিনারা করতে পারে না। যেমন ইলিয়াস আলী নিখোঁজের ঘটনা। সারাদেশে এ কারণে হরতাল-ধর্মঘট হয়েছে। যে কারণে অন্তত ৪ জন নিহত হয়েছেন। বিরোধী দল সরকারি দলকে দোষারোপ করছে। কিন্তু সরকারি দল বলছে বিরোধীরাই ইলিয়াসকে লুকিয়ে রেখে আন্দোলনের ইস্যু তৈরি করেছে। যদি তাই হয়, তাহলে সরকারের উচিত ছিল তাকে খুঁজে বের করে প্রকৃত রহস্য জনগণের মধ্যে উন্মোচন করা।
