Chinese citizen Xia Bou had to lose both his legs due to extreme cold while climbing Everest 40 years ago. But even after that he did not stop to fulfill his dream.

On the morning of May 14, this 69-year-old Chinese national managed to reach the summit of Everest by crossing a height of 29,029 feet.

He made a record. Because earlier no one without two legs could climb Everest from the Nepalese side.

Another climber who lost both legs in 2006 was New Zealander Mark Inglis - who climbed Everest from the Tibetan side - but was considered relatively easy.

Shea Bou had been trying to climb Everest since 1975, not today. Last year, when the Nepalese government banned amputees and the blind from climbing Everest, he was devastated.

However, when the Supreme Court of Nepal declared the government's ban illegal in March this year, Shia Bou started the Everest expedition for the 5th time in April.

Before the start of the expedition, Shea Bou told AFP news agency, "It is my lifelong dream to climb the summit of Everest." I must fulfill this dream. It is a challenge for me personally, a challenge against my bad luck. Due to strong will power, he was finally able to fulfill his dream.

It is reported that Shia Bowe fell very ill from frost-bite after getting too close to the summit of Everest on his first expedition in 1975. In 1996 he had to have both legs amputated from below the knee due to leg cancer.

He then returned to Nepal for expeditions in 2014 and 2015, but both times the Nepalese government stopped the climb due to inclement weather and accidents.

In 2016, after climbing only 200 meters, he had to return due to bad weather. A year later Shia Bou came again and conquered Everest. Shia Bou's dream came true. He is very happy now. A big wish of life has been fulfilled after a long time.
