The Dhaka Times Desk US President Donald Trump has warned that if nuclear tests are not stopped, North Korea will face the same fate as Libya.
According to media reports, US President Donald Trump has assured that Kim Jong Un will remain in power if North Korea agrees to denuclearization. Last Thursday, he said, "If the meeting is successful, North Korea will get a lot of strong support." However, if nuclear disarmament is not accepted, Donald Trump has also warned that the situation will be like that of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. This information was given in a report of Qatar-based media Al-Jazeera.
The report said that in 2003, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi promised to withdraw nuclear weapons, but was killed by Western-backed rebels three years later.
North Korea is reeling after Donald Trump's national security adviser John Bolton made such a suggestion. However, Donald Trump said that he still believes that negotiations with North Korea will be ours.
North Korea suspended Wednesday's summit with the South due to ongoing joint military exercises between the US and Korea. The country says the military drills threaten warm ties on the divided Korean peninsula. North Korea's state media KCNA has also expressed doubts about whether US President Donald Trump's meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un next month (to be held in Singapore on June 12) will go as planned.
Donald Trump said Kim Jong will stay in his country and run the country. His country will be very rich. But if he does not comply with the conditions, then he will have the same fate as Muammar Gaddafi. He also said, 'Looking at Libya, we understand how dire the consequences can be if we do not come to an agreement.'
