By the One in Whose hand is my soul, surely the smell of the mouth of the fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk, he forsakes food, drink and lust for me. "Fasting and the Qur'an will intercede for the servant on the Day of Resurrection. Fasting will say, O Lord! I stopped him from food and sex. So take my recommendation in that regard. The Qur'an will say, I prevented him from sleeping at night, (i.e. he recited without sleeping) so accept my intercession regarding him.
