In addition to tea leaves, this time the scientists of Bangladesh Jute Research Institute have been able to create tea from jute leaves. An organization has taken the initiative to export and market tea from jute leaves using an innovative method.

Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Jute Research Institute Dr. Nasimul Goni said, around 1993-94, they started thinking about how to make tea from jute leaves. They have been experimenting for a long time whether drinking jute leaves as tea will retain all its properties.

Later, with the help of Dhaka University, the entire process was completed by the scientists of Jute Research Institute. They are sure that jute leaf tea will retain all the herbal properties of jute leaf. Besides, after all kinds of experiments, Dhaka University is conducting another test to see if there is any toxic material in the prepared powder.

Process of making tea from jute leaves:

To make jute leaf tea, the leaves must be collected from the jute plant before it flowers. Then those leaves should be dried in sunlight and powdered to the size of tea grains. After that, the tea can be drunk with or without honey or sugar like normal tea. However, the director of the institute, Mainul Haque, says that tea made from Tosha jute leaves will be delicious, but this tea cannot be mixed with milk.

He feels that jute leaf tea can be used as an alternative to green tea and the quality of this tea can quickly become quite popular. Meanwhile, after discussions with the Jute Research Institute, a company called Warchi Aqua Agro Tech has taken the initiative to export and market organic tea made from jute leaves. The company named this tea Miracle Organic Green Tea. The name may be changed after receiving patent approval from the Ministry of Industry.
