New notes delivery from June 3: Will ordinary customers get these notes?

The Dhaka Times Desk Eid is coming. And when Eid comes, banks start looking for new notes. This time the new notes will be available in scheduled banks including Bangladesh Bank from June 3. But what will ordinary customers get these notes?

Bangladesh Bank will start exchanging new notes from June 3 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The distribution will continue till June 14, excluding weekends and public holidays.

It is known that the new notes will be exchanged at the counters of different offices of Bangladesh Bank. Also, new notes (bundles) of 10, 20, 50 and 100 taka will be exchanged in special arrangements from various commercial bank branches in Dhaka city. However, it is stated that the same person cannot take new notes more than once. While taking note one can also take any denomination of metal coin according to the quantity from the counter if desired.

On May 27, Bangladesh Bank's public relations department also published the list of banks engaged in exchange of notes between customers through a circular.

But in most cases new notes cannot be found by going to banks. Sometimes they say, it hasn't come yet. Sometimes they say, it's over. New notes cannot be obtained by going to any scheduled commercial bank. In most cases, bank officials or special acquaintances get these new notes. It is alleged that ordinary customers never receive these notes.

4. The City Bank Limited, Mirpur Branch.

6. Social Islami Bank Limited, Bashundhara City (Panthapath) Branch.
7. Uttara Bank Limited, Chowkbazar Branch.
8. Sonali Bank Limited, Ramna Corporate Branch.
9. Dhaka Bank Limited, Uttara Branch.
10. IFIC Bank Limited, Gulshan Branch.
11. Rupali Bank Limited, Mohakhali Branch.
12. First Security Islami Bank Limited, Mohammadpur Branch.
13. Janata Bank Limited, Rajarbagh Branch.
14. Pubali Bank Limited, Sadarghat Branch.
