According to a BBC report, US President Donald Trump may invite North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to visit the United States if the meeting held in Singapore goes well. Donald Trump said this after meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
There has been bitterness over the nuclear program for a long time. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump are going to meet at a hotel on Santos Island in Singapore on June 12.
Donald Trump says it is possible to reach an agreement to end the Korean War. But he described this as the easiest part of the compromise.
The US and its allies want North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons. Donald Trump said it will take more than a meeting to understand North Korea's intentions.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said that Kim Jong Un has also indicated to him that he is willing to denuclearize.
Donald Trump's policy was to apply maximum pressure on North Korea. However, he later said that he would not use the word pressure. The reason is that they are going to a friendly settlement with North Korea.
Donald Trump has also said that he is ready to walk out if the talks do not go well. If the talks go well, he will invite Kim to the United States.
