The moon of the holy month of Shawwal was seen in the sky of Bangladesh today (Friday) evening. Tomorrow (Saturday, June 16) will be the celebration of Eid ul Fitr, the biggest festival of Muslims. This has been confirmed by the National Moon Sighting Committee.
This information was given by the moon sighting committee today (Friday) evening. A little before 7 pm, the first Shawal moon was seen in the sky of Chittagong. Later, Eid moon is seen in different parts of the country. Accordingly, this year's holy month of Ramadan has been completed in 29 fasts.
All preparations for Eid prayers have been completed in all parts of the country including the capital Dhaka. Extensive security measures have been strengthened at the National Eidgah in the capital. The first congregation will be held at 8:30 am. However, if there is inclement weather, the main Eid congregation will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 9 am.
It has been reported that senior Imam Hafez Maulana Muhammad Mizanur Rahman of Baitul Mukarram Mosque will lead this year's Eid prayers at the National Eidgah.
The country's largest Eid congregation will be held at the historic Sholakia Eidgah Maidan in Kishoreganj.
