The Dhaka Times Desk Can't he who has no eyesight work like five other people in the society? Of course you can. A judge in Pakistan gave proof of that! He joined the work as the first blind judge of Pakistan!
Yusuf Salim joined the work as Pakistan's first blind judge last Sunday. The 25-year-old judge took oath along with 20 others at the Punjab Judiciary Academy on June 26.
Before joining the work, the blind judge Yusuf Salim said, I am joining the work as a civil judge on July 1. After 6 months of training, I will officially become a judge.
Yusuf Salim's dream does not end here. He wants to be judged by the Supreme Court and ultimately wants to serve as the Chief Justice of the country, Yusuf Salim.
It may be noted that a gold medalist in Punjab University secured first place in the Judiciary Examination in 2014. But initially he was not considered eligible for the post. After learning of the matter, the Chief Justice of the country, Saqib Nisar, took action in this matter, due to which he was later deemed eligible.
