The Dhaka Times Desk Sanjay Dutt's biopic 'Sanju', directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Ranbir Kapoor, was expected to collect Rs 30 crore on its opening day. But the movie surpassed even that idea. 34.75 Crores on 'Opening Day'
Definitely a game changer for Ranbir Kapoor, the film grossed around Rs 35 crore (34.75 crore) on its opening day.
The film was also considered the 'biggest opener' of the films released so far in 2018. Next is Salman Khan's action entertainer 'Race 3'. The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanjay Dutt biopic has also surpassed Hollywood's super movie 'Avengers: The Infinity War' in terms of opening day earnings in India.
Now, this biographical drama has managed to reach the milestone of Rs 100 crore in three days just like Salman Khan's 'Race 3'. The movie earned Rs 34.75 crore on the release date i.e. Friday, Rs 38.60 crore on the second day i.e. Saturday, Rs 46.71 crore on the second day, Rs 25.35 crore on Monday. 22.10 crore earned on Tuesday. The total income is Rs.167.58 crores.
It is the only Sanjay Dutt biopic film, apart from Telugu blockbuster Baahubali, to have a non-holiday opening. Rajkumar Hirani's films always do well at the domestic and international box office. Like Munnabhai MBBS, Lagae Raho Munnabhai, PK and 3 Idiots, all the films have tasted commercial and accolade success.
