'Bhuvan Majhi' released in Kolkata

The Dhaka Times Desk 'Bhuvan Majhi', a film based on Bangladesh's liberation war, was released in Kolkata. The movie was released in Kolkata on August 3 under the SAFTA agreement.

The film marked the debut of the popular Kolkata-based producer and actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay on the big screen in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi actress Aparna Ghosh acted opposite him in this film. The release of the film in his home country left Parambrata emotional.

Seeking the support of Kolkata audience through social media, Parambrata wrote that 'Bhuvan Majhi' is going to be released in Kolkata. In this time of hatred - this is a love story, this love for freedom, for the dearest man, for the language and for the dear motherland and ideals - for which you live.'

Note that on March 3, 2017, the film starring Parambrata-Aparna was released in 67 theaters in Bangladesh. Although the film is based on the liberation war, not only the liberation war, but also the image of Bangladesh after the liberation war has emerged in the film. Apart from Parambrata-Aparna, Mamunur Rashid, Majnoon Meezan, Sushma and many others acted in 'Bhuban Majhi'.
