Myanmar rejected the UN report on the Rohingya issue!

The Dhaka Times Desk The Myanmar government has rejected an investigative report released by the UN's independent international fact-finding mission that identified top Myanmar military officials as responsible for the genocide against Rohingya Muslims.

Recently, Myanmar's army chief Min Aung Hlaing, along with 6 other top army generals, have to face trial, according to a UN investigation report. Myanmar is under a lot of pressure this week after the publication of the UN report. The Myanmar Army has been accused of the most brutal torture and persecution of the Rohingya in Rakhine.

In August last year, the country's army launched an operation in Rakhine based on the attack on several military posts in Myanmar. In the name of the campaign, the houses of the Rohingyas living there were set on fire, women were raped, and many people were killed by indiscriminate shooting. That is why the terrified Rohingya fled their homes and took refuge in Bangladesh. In the first phase, more than 7 lakh Rohingya Muslims took refuge in Bangladesh. Currently, about 1.2 million Rohingya are sheltered in Bangladesh.

UN investigators say Myanmar's army chief should face trial for alleged genocide against Rohingya. They have demanded the trial of 5 other top army officers of the country.

The investigation report of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission was published last Monday. It is said that evidence of crimes against humanity and genocide has been found on a large scale.

The following day, on Tuesday, in a session of the United Nations Security Council, various countries including the United States demanded that the guilty military officers, including the Myanmar army chief, be brought to justice internationally.

However, yesterday (Wednesday) the investigation report of the UN mission was rejected by Myanmar. "We have not allowed the FFM (The UN Fact Finding Mission) organization to enter Myanmar," Myanmar government spokesperson Zaw Hye said in a statement. That is why we are not accepting any analytical reports of human rights organizations and we are not accepting any of their solutions.
