The Dhaka Times Desk Two Bengali scientists have proved that a black hole monster is naked in space. Chandrachud Chakraborty of the Kavli Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics in Beijing and Sudeep Bhattacharya of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai announced their discovery in the famous journal 'Physical Review'.
A report of Anandabazar newspaper has published a news related to this. Black holes are actually ghost states of massive stars. When a star's furnace is on, the heat causes it to expand. On the other hand, the huge amount of matter present in the star tends to shrink it under the action of gravity. The balance of these two opposing actions is the life of a star. No star fire can last forever. When the fire is extinguished, its tendency to swell and increase in volume disappears. Then only the crushing of gravity.
Since massive stars contain a lot of matter, the internal pressure is also very high. Then at the center of the star is a shell, the density of which is immense. Its scientific name is 'Singularity'. Its strong gravitational attraction then persists for a region around the singularity. Nothing in that area, not even light, can then come out of that area. The boundaries or walls of such areas are called event horizons. This wall must be imaginary. This is the boundary of extreme gravity.
Now the question is, if the imaginary wall or event horizon is not created around the singularity? Albert Einstein also imagined such a situation. Since there is no veil around the singularity, it is a 'naked singularity' or a naked singularity. Chandrachud and Sudeep claim that the dead star GRO J1655-40 is actually one such naked singularity. Chandrachud and Sudeep noticed this state of the star while conducting another search for this dead star.
The thing is, like any black hole, GRO J1655-40 is spinning like a lattu. Three teams of astronomers got three values of that rotation. Why these three standards, Chandrachud and Sudeep got down to the mystery. Their calculations suggest that if the strange matter inside GRO J1655-40 is from the 'gravitomagnetic monopole', then only those three values of the dead star's spin are possible.
The question is what is a gravitomagnetic monopole? A monopole is a single-pole magnet. Any magnet has two poles - north and south. Cutting a magnet into two pieces does not produce two single-pole magnets. Two dipole magnets are found.
Note that not today but in 1931, Nobel laureate British physicist Paul Dirac imagined the existence of a unipolar magnet. That monopoly has not been identified in reality till date. In imitation of that monopole, scientists have now imagined the gravitomagnetic monopole. A rod is a type of material that has no mass but spins like a ball. Needless to say, no such substance has been detected anywhere before.
Meanwhile, Chandrachud and Sudeep realized three potential sources of GRO J1655-40's spin, including the gravitomagnetic monopole. Moreover, that dead star is also a naked singularity. While solving a mystery, scientists found two strange objects. That is, what is called two birds with one stone!
