BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir, ICANN Manager Dilpreet Kar and ICANN India Head Sameeran Gupta were also present at the BASIS Outreach Program.
3 Bangladeshi Fellows of ICAN were present at the event. The program was coordinated by Md. Imran Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of BASIS member company iSoft IT Solutions.
According to the calculations of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission-BTRC, the number of Internet users in Bangladesh is more than 80 million as of January 2018. ICAN agreed with the statistics and said that by 2022, Bangladesh will have the leading internet user rate in South Asia.
In the event, ICAN's activities, expansion of activities and action plan in Bangladesh were presented in detail. Representatives of fifty member institutions of BASIS were present on this occasion. (News press release).
