Mustafa Saryar Farooqui's 'Dub' is going to the Oscars

Popular filmmaker Mustafa Saryar Faruqi's film 'Dub' became the center of discussion in Agora. This film became the focus of various discussions right from the production stage. This time the film 'Dub' is going to the foreign language competition category at the 91st Oscars from Bangladesh.

This announcement was made yesterday (Sunday) from a press conference organized by Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies.

The film 'Dub' is a joint production of Jazz Multimedia of Bangladesh and SK Movies of Kolkata. Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan invested money with these two companies.

Next year, on February 24, 2019, the 91st Academy Awards will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is in that arrangement. This time awards will be given in 24 branches. Like every year, a film from Bangladesh got a chance to compete in the foreign language competition category at this year's Oscars. In the 91st Oscar nomination, apart from 'Dub', another film named 'Orange Rocket' was submitted. But in the end, it was 'Dub' who won the bet.

It is to be noted that apart from Irfan Khan, Kolkata's Parno Mitra, Bangladeshi actress Tisha and Rokeya Prachi also acted in the movie 'Dub'. Various discussions started from the first stage of the production of this film. It was alleged that the life story of famous prose writer Humayun Ahmad was added.
