This mosque was built during the Qutb Shahi period near the famous Toran Charminar, symbol of Hyderabad city.

According to a history, the 6th Sultan Mohammad Quli of this dynasty founded the city of Hyderabad in 1591.
He built beautiful palaces and gardens in the city and dug canals. The most popular among them is Charminar.
There are also tombs of Qutb Shahi Sultans. It is claimed that the ancestors of this dynasty came to India from Iran.
