According to a report in Khaleej Times, two women were passing through the road. They stopped in front of a house and started talking. At this time, the soil suddenly gives way. It seemed as if the ground would swallow them. However, two Turkish women miraculously survived.
Surprisingly this incident was caught on a CCTV camera at that time. In the video footage, the two women were walking along the sidewalk in the city of Diyarbakır, when they stopped in front of a house and started talking.
Just then the road collapsed and swallowed them both. At this time passers-by came to their aid. They were pulled out. An ambulance arrived shortly after. They were later taken to hospital.
The authorities later identified the two women. Those two women are Dr. Suzan Kude Balik and nurse Ozlem Dumaj. They were injured in that incident. Officials said that the shocking incident happened around 4 pm local time last Wednesday.
When Turkish security forces released the footage of the incident, it went viral in no time. The local media said that the relevant police force is investigating why the road collapsed. The area was immediately cordoned off for safety reasons.
