Commenting on the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, he said that till now his body has not been found, even his DNA has not been found and his family members have not been able to organize the last rites. He said, journalist Jamal Khashoggi may still be alive.
The former head of Dubai Police also said on social media Twitter, "All things considered, it seems that Khashoggi may still be alive." Following this tweet, a report was published by the Middle East-based news media Middle East Monitor.
It should be noted that Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Turkey on October 2. Saudi Arabia initially denied it, but later admitted that Khashoggi was killed.
17 days after that incident, Saudi Arabia admitted that Khashoggi was murdered in the same consulate and it was reported that he died during a verbal altercation and bribery. As the international community was not satisfied with this explanation, they changed the statement several times. Saudi Arabia also explained that Khashoggi was accidentally killed due to a rogue operation.
Saudi Arabia has said that Khashoggi was killed by a group of agents who broke the rules and that the Saudi crown prince had nothing to do with the incident. After that, several officials and security guards of Saudi Arabia were also arrested.
However, Turkish President Erdoğan said that the chief consul of Saudi Arabia should find out who ordered the murder of Khashoggi and sent a team of 15 people to Istanbul to kill him. The Chief Government Counsel of Saudi Arabia also visited Istanbul at that time.
After so many things happened, when the whole world is demanding the recovery of Khashoggi's remains, doubts have arisen whether the former head of Dubai Police is trying to take the matter to a different sector by making such a comment.
