Bagfuls of money are being sold in the market!

The Dhaka Times Desk Like rice, dal, salt and oil, money is also being sold in the market! But such a strange thing has probably never been heard before. This money is being sold in Somaliland, Somalia, Africa.

We have seen fish market, vegetable market, book market, clothing market as there are daily needs. But I have never seen people sitting on the side of the road with bags of money in a line. Have you ever seen people buying money from the market as they need it?

We know that most of the money transactions are done through banks. Moreover, there are some other media such as in our country there are some bank related media including Bikash. They are also much like banks. But maybe we have never heard that money is sold in the bazaar. But this time heard the strange story of the money market!

This time, such a strange market has been found. Money is being sold in Somaliland, Somalia, Africa. But that money is not fake or fake, it is real money. It seems unbelievable but the fact is true. People there buy and sell bundles and bundles of money notes in the open streets during the day and afternoon.

But surprisingly there is no need for additional security in this money market. So there is no additional police or law enforcement. The reason is that Somaliland's financial structure is believed to be conducive to the development of such a peculiar market. This money is called 'shilling'. Such a situation is said to have arisen due to the drastic fall in the price of the shilling in the country.

There the price of one US dollar is close to 10 thousand shillings! So if you spend a total of 10 dollars, you will get at least 50 kg of shilling notes! Which cannot be taken in one's own pocket. A few sacks or a wheelbarrow is needed to take that money. Local people have to go out with sacks of money to buy daily necessities!

The point is - the value of the shilling is such that the value of the money in Somaliland has slowly started to decline. Due to which the terrorist-robber or thief-robber has also lost interest in stealing these shillings. And so there is no difficulty in buying and selling money like potatoes left on the road by the side of the road!
