The Dhaka Times Desk A different story. The story of becoming an extraordinary leader from an ordinary daughter of an extraordinary father, even a world-renowned leader! Many unknown facts of history have been revealed in the documentary 'Hasina- A Daughter's Tale', the story of Bangabandhu. Now it will be seen in theaters.
The story goes like this - no father, but Pahar has kept his father's dream with utmost care, for years. Even after losing all the family, for so many days, he is carrying the burden of great pain, alone. It is a story of his overcoming that pain, not giving up to adversity. A documentary 'Hasina - A Daughter's Tale' has been made on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina based on that story. This product of tireless work of the last two years is going to be released on November 16 (Friday). Although the idea of this documentary took root more than 3 years ago.
Sabbir Bin Shams, executive director of research organization Center for Research and Information (CRI), told the media that the premiere show of this documentary will be held at Star Cineplex on November 15 (Thursday), the day before its release in theaters for all.
Yesterday (November 13) afternoon at the press conference organized at Krishibid Institute convention hall in the capital, he said, 'We mainly do publishing work. We wondered if we could do some documentary or archival work for young people. We have also worked on Mujib graphic novel about the place of development of Bangladesh, the place of history, the place of freedom. We see Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leading the development of Bangladesh. We have arrived at an idea of his politics of development. In a focus group discussion with the youth a few days ago, we saw that the youth had forgotten about the '90s. At that time people were killed like birds on the streets, at that time Sheikh Hasina was leading the movement. Young people have forgotten this history!'
Sabbir bin Shams also said, 'The terms of reference in the works of the Prime Minister are the works that Bangabandhu left unfinished. Then we thought ourselves whether we can do such a thing. It could be documentation or whether we can do an acceptable job. We sit down with Applebox to determine what kind of people will come, how it will move forward—all of that. After working for 5 years, it took about two years to establish a place. Sheikh Rehana's son and CRI trustee Radwan Mujeeb Siddique himself went to every place and was very closely with us in this work. Another trustee of ours, Nasrul Hamid Bipu, has tried everything possible.
Syed Ghowsul Alam Shaon, who is in charge of the marketing of this documentary, said, 'It is a docu-fiction. It will premiere at Cineplex on November 15. It will be released in 4 theaters on November 16 at Star Cineplex, Block Buster, Madhumita and Silver Screen in Chittagong. Based on the personal life of Bangabandhu's daughter - it's not about making her the prime minister of Bangladesh, it's an attempt to preserve history.'
