Mobile internet validity will be minimum 7 days -BTRC

The Dhaka Times Desk Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). Zahurul Haque said that the duration of mobile internet will be minimum 7 days.

Yesterday (Saturday) afternoon at a press conference organized at the BTRC office, the BTRC chairman said this in response to a question from the journalists.

He said that the internet package of the country's telecom operators will be made for a minimum of 7 days. A press conference was organized at the BTRC office on Saturday afternoon. This press conference is organized to provide details about the 2018 Amateur Radio Service Exam.

The BTRC chairman also said that for a long time customers have been urging for the extension of the validity of various internet packages. Customers complain that packages are expiring before they can use the internet, so they want refunds. Therefore the minimum period will be 7 days.

BTRC chairman said, we will also discuss with us about various packages of mobile operators. BTRC is a customer friendly company. We are working to ensure customer safety. At the same time we are also helping the operators to provide business friendly environment. That is why the commission has decided that no package can be less than 7 days. However, this decision has not yet been implemented. We will hear from the operators by the 9th of next month," said the BTRC chairman.

BTRC chairman also said, 'Earlier, the internet package would expire in 2 hours, 3 hours or 7 hours. Because of which people were harassed. In this way, the package would have expired without using the internet. But when you claim to the operators, the operators say that they have fixed the time.

Referring to BTRC as customer-friendly, its chairman Zahurul Haque said, 'BTRC has always neglected all the benefits of customers. On the other hand, we are always looking at the business side of the telecom operators.

In that press conference, the director general of BTRC's wave department Nasim Parvez was also present.
