UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for a "credible" investigation into the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey. He made this call at the Doha Forum conference in Qatar on Sunday. This information was given by Al Jazeera media.

Antonio Guterres said a "credible" investigation into the killings and the prosecution of those involved was imperative. He also mentioned that he does not know anything other than the information published in the media.

Saudi authorities initially denied but later admitted to killing dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi. They also admitted that the killing was premeditated. Turkey's demand is that those involved in the murder should be handed over to Ankara for trial. However, the Saudi authorities did not agree. Khashoggi's body has not been found yet.

At an event in Istanbul last Friday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said one of the killers was heard to say, "I know how to cut" while dismembering the body of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

He also said that this person is a member of the army. We have been able to collect this information from the audio records that are available after Khashoggi's murder. The audio recordings have been given to the United States, Canada, Germany, France and Canada to investigate the murder.

It should be noted that Jamal Khashoggi, a columnist and exiled Saudi journalist of The Washington Post, disappeared after entering the consulate building of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul, Turkey on October 2.
