The news media said that Beijing plans to build this sophisticated warship in order to ensure the 'balance of power' in the Indian Ocean, according to a report in China Daily, Indian news media NDTV reported this information.

Equipped with modern weapons and detection systems, this new warship is capable of resisting attacks by aircraft, submarines and any other ships, according to China's state-controlled shipbuilding company CSSC.

Islamabad wanted at least four such warships, of which this is the first, as per the bilateral arms deal signed between Pakistan and China.

The new warship that China will give to Pakistan is the 054AP class, according to the Pakistan Navy.

According to media reports, the new ship is being built on the basis of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) 054A class ships.

Once completed, the ship will be a major technological addition to the Pakistan Navy, which will enhance the country's capabilities to face future challenges, as well as contribute to peace and stability and the balance of power in the Indian Ocean. This is what the Chinese state media said.

China has already built a military base in Djibouti, Africa; 99 years lease from Sri Lanka in exchange of loan. Hambantota sea port is also strategically important.

It should be noted that since the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor passes through Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, India has been strongly opposed to this project since its inception. Despite India's opposition, China continues its work.
