# Prime Minister's monthly salary is Tk 1 lakh 15 thousand.

# Salary of a Deputy Minister is Rs.86 thousand 500.

The monthly salary of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh is 1 lakh 15 thousand taka. On the other hand, a full minister gets 1 lakh 5 thousand taka, state ministers get 92 thousand taka and deputy ministers get 86 thousand 500 taka. Apart from this salary, they get various government facilities. The salaries and other benefits of the Prime Minister and Ministers-State Ministers-Deputy Ministers are prescribed by law.

As per The Prime Ministers (Remuneration and Privileges) Act:

The monthly salary of the Prime Minister is 1 lakh 15 thousand taka. There is an official residence (Ganabhavan) for the current Prime Minister. The furniture and maintenance of that building will be at government expense. If the Prime Minister does not want to live in the official residence, he can live in his own house or in a rented house. In that case he will get 1 lakh taka per month for house rent. The Prime Minister will receive from the government exchequer an allowance for entertainment expenses throughout the year. The Prime Minister also gets travel allowance for himself and family members and free medical facilities in the country. The Prime Minister gets a daily allowance of Tk 3,000 while on tour.

Minister-State Minister-Deputy Minister Salary

The privileges of a full Minister, Minister of State, Deputy Ministers are defined in 'The Ministers, Ministers of State and Deputy Ministers (Remuneration and Privileges) Act'.

A minister's monthly salary is Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand. The salary of the state minister is 92 thousand taka per month and the salary of the deputy minister is 86 thousand 500 taka. Their salary is tax free. Moreover, a minister will get a monthly allowance of Tk 10,000, State Minister Tk 7,500 and Deputy Minister Tk 5,000.

Ministers, Ministers of State, Deputy Ministers will get one car each at government expense. Besides, they also get a jeep for official work, especially outside Dhaka. This vehicle is provided by the department, directorate of the concerned ministry. Ministers, Ministers of State, Deputy Ministers get official residences. Ministers get furniture up to 5 lakh rupees, state ministers and deputy ministers get furniture up to 4 lakh rupees.

However, if not in the official residence, a minister will get 80,000 taka per month and a state minister or deputy minister will get 70,000 taka per month. The government will also pay various service bills including electricity, water, gas, telephone. A full minister and a minister of state gets a private secretary of the rank of deputy secretary, an assistant private secretary of the rank of assistant secretary or senior assistant secretary and an assistant private secretary of his choice outside of government officials, according to his choice.
