Bangabandhu gave that speech at a public meeting at Dhaka's Race Course on March 7, 1971, starting at 2:45 PM and ending at 3:30 PM. The speech lasted 18 minutes. Bangabandhu has nothing new to say about the significance of that 7th March.
However, vocalist Mahbub Riaz has sung a new song about the significance of this speech. Composed by the lyricist Ayat Hossain Moon, this song was released this March.
About the song, Mahbub Riaz said, 'This March 7 speech has shown the way to the liberation of Bengalis. Every word of this speech is meaningful. Bangabandhu gave this speech on 7th March at the race course, Bengalis got their way to freedom. Realizing that, I tried to make music. It was done out of love for Bangabandhu.'
