The Dhaka Times Desk As the moon of the month of Ramadan was seen in the sky of the country on Monday evening, the holy month of Ramadan has started from today.
Ramadan, the month of fasting (fasting) for Muslims, has begun. Accordingly, the holy Lailatul Qadr will be celebrated on the night of June 1 (Saturday).
At Baitul Mukarram in the capital, the deputy directors of various district offices including Chittagong, Narayanganj, Rajbari, Chandpur and other district offices of the Islamic Foundation reported the sighting of the moon.
Then the National Moon Sighting Committee officially announced the moon sighting of Ramadan in the hall of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram. Chairman of the committee and State Minister of Religion Sheikh Md. Abdullah announced this.
According to the schedule of Sehri and Iftar announced by Islamic Foundation, the last time of Sehri of the first fast in Dhaka is 3:52 PM and today's Iftar will be at 6:34 PM.
The Islamic Foundation has requested all mosques in the country to follow the same procedure while reading Khatam Taraweeh during the month of Ramadan.
